Scout Game Review & Airdrop
If you haven't heard about Scout Game, you should know that if you are a developer, or you want to support mostly Web3 developers, or you would like to discover cool projects, you should probably check out this website.
The project is relatively new; it's been around since 2024, and it showcases mostly Web3 developers. I've been one of its first users, and I saw it evolve, and was rather active on it.
It has some interesting game mechanics where you can use points to buy cards that represent developers.
Based on these cards, you can compete, and you will also be able to trade the cards as they are on-chain assets.
The system right now uses points and crypto for getting cards.
The points system will be deprecated in favor of an on-chain token called dev.
The token would be omni-chain and should be usable on more than one EVM chain.
This token will also have an airdrop on 21 April (4 days from now), where people who claim can also opt-in to donating their airdrop 100/100 or 50/100.
The airdrop will mostly be dropped to registered devs.
It would have been nice to be able to put in any custom percent rather than these 3 predefined(0, 50, 100).
It has managed to capture a lot of developers from the Farcaster community. I think most of them have onboarded, as it is the project leans towards “builders,” a term to define web3 developers, and doesn’t have many developers from traditional open-source communities.
I hope that this will change, and I hope the project will be able to help open-source in general.
They have a public white paper, which I read, and it looks solid with a very ambitious timeline of over a decade.
Team also said that they are not interested in pump economics, which I think is good as a stance, even if things don’t pan out as they wish, taking a stance as a principle is a good approach.
You can log in both using SIWF( you can use my wallet Clear Wallet, to do SIWF on desktop), or with wallet login.
I think this kind of login is the best one with an external wallet, no social BS, web3 was made for login wallet, and I am happy to see that Scout Game is one of the few principled DApps that treat web3 natives as first-class citizens.
I hope I convinced you to take a look at the project, if not for more then take a look at what interesting open-source projects some devs have to offer.
